Representative Gene Whisnant of Sunriver told the Oregon House Interim Committee on Education, he's hearing from parents and teachers alike to hold off.
"And Dr. Golden and Mr. Saton expect only 30 perccent of the students to pass. That means 70% will be failing. We are rushing into this. We need to back off and have more input into this system."
Dr. Nancy Golden, the State's Chief Education Officer and Rob Saxton, Oregon's Superintendent of Schools talked to the education committee about common core standards and smarter balanced testing implementation.
