The Governor's Office confirmed the two have been engaged for a couple of weeks, but have not set a wedding date.

The 67 year old Governor started dating Hayes who is almost 47, back in 2002 when Hayes ran for a State House seat in Bend.

Both Kitzhaber and Hayes have been divorced twice.
