BEND, OR -- A Bend Day Care owner faces child abuse charges after a three-month-old suffered what police are calling suspicious head injuries. Investigators say the baby girl attended a licensed daycare on Northeast Saranac Place, owned and operated by Nicole Johansen. She was treated for internal head injuries at St. Charles Medical Center, Friday.

Bend Police arrested Johansen after a search of her home. She's charged with two counts of first degree assault and one count of first degree criminal mistreatment. The Department of Human Services is working to contact other families with children who attended the daycare.
