Bend Angel Investment Firm Receives State Grant

BEND, OR -- A Bend-based angel investors group received a big boos from the Oregon Growth Board to support innovative, and tech-savvy business ideas.  Cascade Angels announced Monday they will receive up to $100,000 to distribute to local start-up businesses. Julie Harrelson with Cascade Angels says local companies are already applying for funds. "One of the most amazing things to me about doing this work is the intelligence, drive and creativity of the companies that we see coming through. And, certainly, in Central Oregon, there's just a huge focus on this. We see this across a lot of sectors - tech, consumer products, outdoor and apparel."

Cascade Angels has 20 applications for 2015 funds. Harrelson says half of those are from Central Oregon.  Last year, the fund contributed to local companies Amplion and Poached Jobs through the Bend Venture Conference.
