BLM Bans Fireworks in Oregon and Washington

PRINEVILLE, OR  -- The Bureau of Land Management is banning the use of fireworks and other exploding targets on its public lands throughout Oregon and Washington State. The ban lasts through October 15.

This year's low snow pack combined with warmer than normal weather, increases our chances for wildfire, so the BLM is taking this step.

Those who ignite fireworks on BLM managed lands face up to one thousand dollars in fines and up to one year in prison or both.
