Hemp and Cannabis Fair to be Held in Redmond

REDMOND, OR -- The Deschutes County Expo Center will host a unique fair next weekend. The Hemp and Cannabis Fair in Jackson County earlier this month drew 2,500 people - nearly double what was expected. The THC Fair will come to Central Oregon August 15 and 16.

Naomi Forkash with the THC Fair tells KBND what they have planned. "What we're going provide is a safe and educational environment for people to come and learn about what the legalization of marijuana means to them. There will be educational sessions, vendors from grow shops, dispensaries, accessory shops and lots and lots of information."

She says one thing that won't be allowed: use of the product. "There are no sales at the fair. We have several samples in individual wrappers, but it has to be consumed off site. Our overarching theme is safe and educational. It's not a place where you're walking into a cloud of smoke."

The THC Fair takes place in the Middle Sister of the Expo Center next weekend. Other fairs are planned for Eugene and Salem in the fall.
