OSU-Cascades Gets Feedback at Community Mtg

BEND, OR -- Tuesday night’s Bend Chamber “What’s Brewing” event focused on “What’s Next for OSU-Cascades?” Three college representatives gave updates on key issues under consideration as they plan for the 4-year institution’s growth. Vice President of Finance Kelly Sparks tells KBND News it's important that everyone has input in the process. “Our associated students are very involved with the administration,  with the faculty, in driving what the needs are for the campus. And our faculty are incredibly involved in visioning for what the future campus is.”

Sparks says in the coming months, the university will focus on academic research and student life, arts and culture, community integration, sustainability, and health & wellness.  “This is where we’re going to be with the community for the next 17 months. It’s not just today but were going to have to work very closely to meet everybody’s needs together.”

A recurring message at Tuesday's meeting was the need to include and respond to input in each area and to be a good neighbor and community member.
