REDMOND, OR -- The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is hiring security screeners for Roberts Field in Redmond. The agency is hosting a career fair, Wednesday (March 1) for those interested in learning more about available part time positions. The following was issued Wednesday morning by the TSA:

 

We are looking for committed, professional individuals to join our team working 20 hours per week, which provides a great opportunity for area residents to begin or continue a career in Federal Service. Apply at www.usajobs.gov.

 

TSA is one of 22 agencies within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and our mission is to protect the nation’s transportation systems by ensuring the freedom of movement for people and commerce. The most visible piece of TSA’s responsibilities is the security screening of passengers and their carry-on/checked luggage at the nation’s airports.  TSOs perform a variety of duties related to providing security and protection of air travelers, airports and aircraft.  They are responsible for identifying dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and/or on passengers; and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft.  Additional information about TSA and the Transportation Security Officer responsibilities can be found at www.tsa.gov. Part-time starting at $15.37 per hour Plus Benefits (Includes 15.06% Locality Pay)

Full-Time Medical Benefits Available.  NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

Minimum Requirements:

18 years of age at time of application on USAJobs

U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National

High school diploma, GED or equivalent

English proficiency

Pass a background/credit check/drug test
