TUMALO, OR -- A 19-year-old Redmond woman was seriously injured in a crash on the Old Bend-Redmond Highway, Sunday morning. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Michaela Dismore lost control of her car, crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a pickup head on, just before 9 a.m.
The other driver, a 28-year-old Bend man, was not hurt and reportedly tried to provide immediate medical attention to Dismore, with the help of several witnesses. Dismore was later flown to St. Charles Bend for treatment.
The highway was closed for more than an hour to accommodate first responders. Investigators believe speed may have been a factor in the crash.
