Driver Faces Multiple Charges After Redmond Crash

REDMOND, OR -- A Warm Springs woman faces a long list of charges, following a serious crash near downtown Redmond, Tuesday morning. Police were near NW 4th and Hemlock, watching a residence known for suspected drug activity, when 31-year-old Latanna Jackson drove from the house.

When officers saw her speed off in a reckless manner, they attempted to catch up to the vehicle. They say they were not engaged in a pursuit with the vehicle. An officer turned onto Canal Blvd. just in time to see the car turn west onto NW Elm. At NW  6th and Elm, Jackson hit a GMC Yukon, spun out of control and hit two parked cars, nearly running into a person sitting on their front step. She ran from the scene but was found hiding nearby and arrested.

Her two passengers were taken to the hospital with severe but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV and two small children were not immediately taken to the hospital, but were driven from the scene by a family member.

Jackson faces a list of charges, including hit and run and driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Police later discovered she was driving an unreported stolen car from Metolius.
