SISTERS, OR -- A Gresham motorcyclist was hurt in a Saturday evening crash on Highway 20, southeast of Sisters. Deschutes County deputies say an SUV was stopped on the highway, near Gist Road, to allow another vehicle to turn left into a driveway. The 65-year-old motorcycle rider was unable to stop; Duncan Howatt put his bike down and hit the rear of the SUV, sparking a fire.
The rider was taken to St. Charles Bend with non-life threatening injuries and the motorcycle fire was extinguished by firefighters. No one in the SUV was hurt; the crash remains under investigation.
