5,000 Oregonians will receive help with their mortgage payments thanks to some federal funds. To be eligible you have to earn $74,000 or less for a family of four, or $59,000 for a couple. You also must have seen a 25% cut in income. Applicants have started applying for the $100-million program on the website: www.oregonhomeownerhelp.orghe way the process works is the homeowners goes to the website and click on button apply now. You access application, fill out the application and we can see you real time and when you're close to finishing we call you to set up an appointment to bring in your application.” The deadline to apply is January 14th and by that time you must have met with someone at NeighborImpact to go over your application, so don't wait until the last minute. .   Laura Fritz with NeighborImpact is helping administer the program. “T

Most organizations are asking for cash, rather than supplies, so they can route help to where it’s needed most more quickly. Here are some of the largest groups with campaigns underway:

 

Traffic

  • Intersection of NW Broadway Street and NW Delaware for waterline replacement project, road closures with detours clearly marked for thru traffic, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily with roads opened nightly. Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area and use Bond Street and Wall Street.

 

  • Nels Anderson Road between Nels Anderson Place and Brandis Court, single northbound shoulder closure will be in effect, two-way traffic to be maintained. Project completion expected December 2017.
