Two Injured in Crook Co. Motorcycle Crash

PRINEVILLE, OR -- Two men were seriously hurt late Sunday night, when their motorcycles collided just outside Prineville.

According to the Crook County Sheriff’s Office, 24-year-old Jake Nunes, of Stayton was stopped on Melrose Drive after his bike stalled, just before midnight. He was hit by 23-year-old Justin Shupp, of Portland, who was riding without a headlight and didn’t see Nunes.

Shupp slid more than a hundred feet and sustained road rash and neck and head injuries. He was transported to St. Charles Prineville. Nunes suffered a severe leg injury and was flown to St. Charles Bend. Neither was wearing a helmet.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor and the Sheriff's Office says criminal charges are expected.
