Prineville Man Critically Injured in Crash

PRINEVILLE, OR -- One person was seriously injured in a crash that shut down O'Neil Highway for four hours, Thursday evening. According to the Prineville Police Department, Harold Kee was driving an ATV across the highway, when it was struck by a northbound pickup, just before 5:30 p.m. Kee was ejected and in critical condition with first responders arrived. The ATV was found about 30-feet from the point of impact.

 

The truck driver, Tyler Lange of Texas, was unhurt and authorities say he is cooperating with the investigation. Kee was taken by Life Flight to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Crook County Sheriff's Office, State Police, ODOT and Crook County Fire & Rescue assisted at the scene.

 

Investigators don't believe intoxicants or excessive speed were factors in the crash and no charges have been filed. Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to contact Officer Daniel Pelayo at 541-447-4168.
