BEND, OR -- The Deschutes National Forest is inviting public comment on the Cabin Butte Vegetation Project. Jean Nelson-Dean says the project is large,,,almost 26-thousand acres…and is designed to increase resilience to wildfires, insects and disease. Nelson-Dean says the public can look at a Cabin Butte Story Map on the Deschutes Forest web page to get a good idea about what’s planned. The public comment period ends November 14th More than one-third of the Cabin Butte Restoration Project is within the Bend Community Wildfire Protection Plan Area.
