SALEM, OR -- More than 270 Oregon Fire fighters have been deployed to California to battle large wildfires in Mendocino and Sonoma County. Rudy Owens with the Oregon State Fire Marshall’s Office says six Oregon strike teams were sent to a 350-acre fire in Mendocino County this week. Strike teams are assisting the Kincaid Fire which started near Geyserville in Sonoma County which has burned a total of 74,000 acres and growing. The Oregon firefighters are expected to be in California for upwards of 16 days.
