BEND, OR -- With the holidays coming up, police agencies will be looking for drivers who aren’t following traffic laws, including those who are talking, texting or emailing from their phones. Bend Deputy Police Chief Paul Kansky says, "Even to the casual observer it’s hard to go to an intersection and not see people on their phone". Kansky says he’s not sure the battle against distracted driving is being won. He says more public education is needed about the many dangers of distracted driving and it can't come just from police.
