BEND, OR -- Deschutes County D-A John Hummel says Deputy Clint Baltzor followed state law when he shot a suspected car thief on Black Friday. 28 year old Adam L. Gilliam was shot trying to escape from police. Hummel says Gilliam’s decision to drive a car in a dangerous manner towards Deputy Baltzor and others, is what resulted in shots being fired.  None of the deputies were injured and Gilliam is recovering from his injury.
