BEND, OR -- Republicans will meet next week to begin the process of picking a replacement for State Senator Cliff Bentz of Ontario. Deschutes and Jefferson County Commissioners will have a say in Bentz’s replacement. Bentz has announced he is running to take retiring Congressman Greg Walden’s seat.  Central Oregon Daily reports Republicans from Senate District 30 meet Saturday, January 4^th to nominate three to five people for the position. On Monday January 6^th the county commissioners in the 11 counties that make up Senate District 30, will make the final decision.
