BEND, OR -- A local man has been arrested for the burglary and attempted burglary of two homes in Bend over the weekend. Saturday afternoon a homeowner on SW Millbrook Lane reported more than $10,000 worth of property had been taken.  Police collected evidence linking that crime to an attempted burglary reported earlier that same morning on SW Blakely Road. Last night, the same homeowner on Millbrook Lane called 9-1-1 to report a man was trying to open his front door. The suspect fled but was apprehended with the help of a K-9 unit.  30-year-old Bend resident Brenton Schaumann was taken into custody without incident but had to be forcibly transported to jail on numerous charges.
