BEND, OTR -- A former Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputy who filed two lawsuits against the department claiming violations of his veteran’s preference rights, has agreed not to appeal. Ronnie Dozier filed lawsuits against the sheriff’s department in June 2017 and again in April 2018. Dozier lost both cases after courts found no evidence he suffered harm and there was no retaliation against Dozier. He has now agreed to pay Deschutes County 10-thousand dollars for his portion of attorney fees the county spent to defend the case.
