BEN D, OR -- The Bend City Council passed a resolution Wednesday discouraging people from feeding deer and other wildlife…excluding birds. Central Oregon Daily reports the council hopes the resolution will alleviate the problem. However, if it continues the council could make feeding wildlife a civil violation with a fine of up to 750-dollars. The resolution notes that feeding wildlife can result in attracting cougars and coyotes which creates a risk to both humans and wildlife. The feeding can also result in the spread of disease and parasites.
