Pedestrian Seriously Injured By Car In Pizza Hut Parking Lot

BEND, OR -- Around 8:30 last night, two people were hit by a car in the parking lot of the Pizza Hut on Third Street in Bend.  A 20-year-old Bend woman was trapped underneath the car, sustaining life-threatening injuries. 40-year-old Paul Lauer of Bend was also struck by the car, but he was able to help Bend Police get the woman out from under the car and into an ambulance. She is at St. Charles Medical Center this morning in critical condition. Her name is being withheld until her family is notified. The driver of the Silver Camry that crashed into them, 26-year-old Jeremy Oprish, is cooperating with authorities. It doesn't appear impaired driving was a factor.  The investigation is on-going.
