Education Program About Redistricting At Bend Downtown Library Tomorrow

BEND, OR -- Next year state lawmakers will use census numbers to redraw the boundary lines for Oregon House and Senate Districts and Congressional Districts. But a new organization says state lawmakers have an inherent conflict of interest drawing political boundaries. Candalynn Johnson with People Not Politicians says they’re working to get a ballot measure before voters in November to create an Independent Redistricting Commission. There’s an educational program about the concept of the Independent Redistricting Commission tomorrow afternoon at the Bend Downtown Library at 3 o’clock.
