SALEM, OREGON -- Oregon Governor Kate Brown says schools in Oregon will remain closed through this academic year. The governor told reporters the decision was made to protect the health of students, teachers and staff. She noted it would be impossible to adhere to social distancing measures in classrooms and schools. The governor made the announcement during a news conference with Oregon Department of Education Director Colt Gill. She said seniors on track to graduate would receive passing grades.
