The Bend Bulletin endorsed his candidacy in the Rebpulican U.S. Senate race over his challenger Monica Wehby.

 

Earlier this week, the Portland paper, Willamette Week, also endorsed him.

 

It's been a good couple of days for Conger.

 

"There have been a couple that use pretty in depth interiews and one was the Bulletin and Willamette Week was another.  They do it differently. They have candidates  come in together.  At any rate, I'm honored."

 

Conger says both these newspapers grilled candidates on a number of issus and he says he's honored to be singled out by these publications.

 

The Bulletin says Conger has proven himself an effective lawmaker in his terms in the Oregon legislature, digging into the details of compelx issues and learning how to represent his constituents' interests.

 

They called Wehby's grasp of political issues limited.

Orion Drive closed in two locations for sewer work; at the intersection with Avery Lane and between Desert Woods Drive and King Hezekiah Way.  From July 11 to Sept. 6. Detours marked.

 

Valhalla Sewer Relocation Project, Mt. Washington Drive at Shevlin Park Road intersection and North to Regency Street. Nighttime closures with detours marked during roundabout construction. Daytime closures for construction towards Regency Street.    7 p.m. – 7 a.m., July 11 – November.
