(Curry County, OR) -- A man is in custody after being accused of threatening to kill a hitchhiker he picked up in Oregon. Oregon State Police say the 56-year-old man, who's a resident of Lynnwood, Washington, was driving with his Canadian passenger on Highway 101 along the Oregon Coast Saturday when he pulled over and threatened to slash the hitchhiker's throat. Troopers say the driver slashed at the passenger and forced him out of the car, then drove on. Authorities say the man was found at a home near Brookings after his car was spotted and the hitchhiker's belongings were seen inside the vehicle.
