(Salem, OR) -- Oregon's Democratic incumbent Governor John Kitzhaber appears headed for a fourth term in office. Kitzhaber is leading GOP challenger Dennis Richardson by a margin of 49 percent to 46 percent. The governor is projected as the winner, despite being embroiled in controversy surrounding his fiancee, Cynthia Hayes, in the weeks leading up to the election. Richardson has yet to concede the race, saying the margin is too slim.
