(Portland, OR) -- Following a vote by the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners, the minimum wage for county employees will reach 15 dollars an hour within three years. The agreement, which is part of a collective-bargaining deal with the union representing county employees, makes Multnomah County the first county and the largest public employer in the state to adopt a 15-dollar minimum wage. Under the agreement, employees making the county's minimum wage of eleven-99 will get retroactive raises to 13 dollars an hour this year, 14 dollars in fiscal 2016, and 15 dollars per hour the following year.
