No Cost Estimate To Reopen Highway 224

(Undated)  --  Transportation officials aren't ready to provide a cost estimate to reopen Highway 224 after a fire closed sections of it last month.  The Portland Tribune is reporting that tree removal will begin this week but it's unknown how much the effort will cost.  The 36 Pit Fire, which burned for more than a month this fall, caused the highway to close between mileposts 31 and 38. Geologists are continuing to assess the area for rock fall risk.
