(Portland, OR) -- Portland police say a report of an incendiary device thrown into a house was a false alarm. The police bureau had received a call last night about such a device being thrown into a Northeast Portland home with two kids inside. Authorities say the children told other kids, who then called 911 to report the incident. Investigators say there was no explosive device, but it appears the family dog chewed on a TV remote and damaged one of the lithium batteries, which began to smoke.
