(Salem, OR) -- Governor Kate Brown says she wants to see changes in Oregon's policies on government ethics and access to records. Brown is proposing a package of legislation, including a measure to require the state Audits Division to examine how state agencies process and produce public records. Another bill would specifically identify the First Spouse as a public official and require that person to file a Statement of Economic Interest. A third bill would remove a requirement that investigation of an ethics complaint cease when a criminal investigation begins.
