Co-founder Of Tazo Tea Dies At Age 65

(Portland, OR)  --  Portland entrepreneur Steven Smith, who co-founded Tazo Tea and other enterprises, is dead at age 65.  Smith began the tea company in 1994 and grew it into a multi-million-dollar creator of specialty blends.  The company was sold in 1999 to Starbucks for eight-point-one-million-dollars.  Smith died yesterday afternoon in Portland.  Services are slated to be held on March 31st at the Sentinel hotel on Southwest 11th Avenue.
