(Portland, OR) -- A man who's accused of hitting a woman who was flagging traffic in a Southeast Portland construction zone is free after pleading not guilty. Authorities believe 48-year-old Patrick Miller was huffing laughing gas before he hit Margot Davis as she stood on a sidewalk near the intersection of Southeast Division and 68th Avenue Wednesday. Davis is listed in critical condition. Miller was released from custody yesterday because he doesn't have a significant criminal record.
