(Portland, OR) -- The Portland City Council is slated this week to consider an ordinance dealing with expansion of affordable housing in the city. The measure would commit the city of Portland to buying an additional one-acre parcel in the North Macadam area for affordable housing within the next eight years. The "Portland Tribune" reports the proposal appears to be part of a deal between Commissioner Nick Fish and Mayor Charlie Hales to reconfigure several of Portland's urban renewal areas.
