Portland Council To Consider Pay Raises For Officials

(Portland, OR)  --  The Portland City Council is scheduled this Wednesday to consider a proposal to give a two-point-one-percent pay increase to elected city officials and city employees.  The proposed increase would include the salaries of the mayor, city commissioners, and the city auditor, and take effect July 1st.  The Bureau of Human Resources says city employees represented by seven unions will receive similar raises starting July 1st.  The "Portland Tribune" reports the Portland Police Commanding Officers Association and AFSCME Housing are still bargaining over their increases.
