(Portland, OR) -- There will be no ban on legal fireworks in Multnomah County, despite a burn ban that's in place in most of western Oregon. However, Portland city officials say there may be a ban implemented if strong winds return to the area and make even legal fireworks too dangerous. Portland Fire Chief Erin Janssens told KOIN-TV that legal fireworks are safe to use as long as winds are calm, there's no dry vegetation in the area, and there's plenty of water nearby.
