(Portland, OR) -- A new report from the Portland City Auditor's office says red-light cameras make intersections safer. Drummond Kahn, director of audit services, told KGW-TV the number and the rate of crashes are lower, which means even the busier intersections are seeing fewer accidents. The audit report says since the red-light cameras were installed, crash rates at those intersections have dropped by an average of 44 percent.
