Council Votes To Decommission Mt. Tabor Reservoirs

(Portland, OR)  --  It appears the three open reservoirs at Mount Tabor will be disconnected from Portland's water supply.  The City Council has approved legal findings by the City Attorney's Office to support the Water Bureau's request to decommission the reservoirs.  The "Portland Tribune" reports the request includes an application for a land-use change that's necessary to have the reservoirs disconnected from the city's water distribution system.  The Water Bureau says the work is necessary to comply with EPA rules intended to prevent the spread of water-borne illnesses.
