(Portland, OR)  --  A man accused of embezzling five-thousand-dollars from a Portland nonprofit is facing charges.  Prosecutors say 53-year-old Kevin Robert Gifford stole the money from the David Douglas Historical Society while serving as the organization's treasurer.  Gifford appeared in court yesterday and pleaded not guilty.  The David Douglas Historical Society is reported to be closing its doors, saying the embezzlement left it on unstable financial ground.
