(Portland, OR) -- The Portland Police Bureau and the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office are each receiving two-million dollars for testing sexual assault forensic evidence kits. The funding for Portland police is coming from the U.S. Department of Justice, while the D.A.'s office is getting a grant from the Manhattan District Attorney's office in New York. The money is intended for testing rape kits that haven't been sent to crime labs and are being stored as evidence.
