Colorado-Oregon pay tribute to shooting victims before game

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — There was a moment of silence before the Oregon and Colorado game Saturday night at Folsom Field to pay tribute to those who died in the shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon.

The Oregon Ducks will wear a special emblem on their helmets this season to honor those who were slain. So will the Oregon State Beavers.

Nine people were killed by a gunman on the college campus in Southern Oregon, about 70 miles from Eugene. The worst mass shooting in Oregon history also injured several others at the community college. The gunman died following a shootout with police.
