Heat Gun Blamed For Condo Fire

(Portland, OR)  --  Investigators say a crafting heat gun was the cause of a fire that damaged a condominium in Portland's Pearl District.  The blaze was reported around 8:40 yesterday morning at the Marshall Wells lofts on Northwest Lovejoy Street.  Authorities say a crafting heat gun left on a hardwood floor caused the fire to start.  Fire officials say the building's sprinkler system slowed the progress of the blaze, which started in a second-floor unit.
