(Portland, OR) -- Charges won't be filed against a man who protested the demolition of a historic home on Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard by climbing onto its roof. Portland police say the 26-year-old protester climbed down from the roof last night after being there throughout the day. The early 20th-century home, located at 3423 Southeast Hawthorne, is set to be razed to make way for an apartment building. Demolition was already underway when the protester climbed to the roof.
