Eugene Contractor Among Those Fined For Deadly Accident In WA

(Tumwater, WA)  --  Four construction contractors are being fined more than 86-thousand dollars by the state of Washington, citing workplace safety hazards.  A concrete slab fell from the State Route 410 overpass in Bonney Lake, killing three members of a family in a vehicle that was traveling under the overpass in April.  The largest fine was levied against Staton Companies of Eugene, Oregon, who state officials say was fined more than 58-thousand dollars for one "willful" and two "serious" violations.  The accident killed Josh and Vanessa Ellis and their eight-month-old son, Hudson.
