Bike Thief To Spend At Least 18 Months In Prison

(Portland, OR)  --  The man prosecutors say is the city's most notorious bike thief is off the streets for now.  Leroy Parsons, Jr. was sentenced to 30 months in prison yesterday after he was charged, again, for first-degree theft.  He could end up serving only 18 months if he successfully completes a drug treatment program while behind bars.  Parsons was caught up in a bike theft sting set up by the news show "Inside Edition" in an episode that aired November 13th.  He has 25 felony and misdemeanor convictions in Oregon from theft to possession of meth and identity theft.
