(Portland, OR) -- Bail is set for a Portland man who admitted he shot his wife after a judge says it can't be proven that the death was intentional. John Coffey's lawyer says the suspect called 911 after the killing and told the dispatcher he shot his wife. Even though he was extremely intoxicated, he was cooperative and followed police instructions to walk out of his apartment with his hands in the air. His lawyer says the 911 call is clearly a man who's emotionally distraught and so intoxicated he can't give his phone number.
