(Portland, OR)  --  Officials are urging residents of the area near Fanno Creek in Southwest Portland to avoid the water, after a broken pipe began leaking sewage into the creek.  The broken sewer pipe was found yesterday as crews were investigating excessive amounts of bacteria in the creek.  The Bureau of Environmental Services says the break happened at a home in the area of Southwest Lowell and 48th Avenue.  Crews are assessing damage and working on repairs.
