(Portland, OR) -- Soccer star Abby Wambach is hoping to avoid jail time after pleading guilty to a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants. Officials say if Wambach completes a diversion program, her offense will be formally dismissed. Multnomah County prosecutors say Wambach also must pay 490 dollars in court fees, undergo a drug and alcohol assessment, complete any recommended treatment, and attend a victim panel. Police say after Wambach was pulled over for a traffic stop in Southwest Portland earlier this month, her blood-alcohol level registered point-13, well above the legal limit of point-oh-eight.
