East Portland Bridge To Close For 3 Years

(Portland, OR)  --  Officials say a bridge in East Portland that sustained damage during a December storm will have to be closed for more than three years.  Transportation officials say the Southeast 122nd Avenue bridge over Johnson Creek will be closed to car traffic, but will be open to motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians until it's torn down to make way for a new span in 2019.  Officials say high water from Johnson Creek washed away earth that supported the bridge, and loosened one of the bridge's support footings.
